Golden Annie is a big-bodied mare who has eventer written all over her! She is bold, brave and unbelievably intelligent. We have not experienced a spook with her and she loves riding outside. She is sure-footed across the uneven terrain. Annie is so smart, she will figure out routines or patterns after the first time and remember them. This is the type of mare I would want to be riding for a very technical jumping course and she will enjoy the mental stimulation. She is quite a package.
Annie was retired after 15 races without any known injuries and was previously adopted in 2016. She did very well with her adopter and went to a few shows. She was later sold to another home but it was not a good match. She seems like she is anticipating someone hanging in her mouth and becomes anxious with a lot of contact. We had her teeth floated and had her chiropracted which has helped her immensely. We have switched her to a hackamore to help break the cycle of anticipation and she is loving it. Annie is suitable for all levels of all disciplines with an advanced rider who can continue to help her trust again.
Annie tends to be a ring leader in the field and is usually towards the top of command. She likes to be in everyone’s business. She needs reminders on the ground that you are the leader as she is the type to try to lead you (she has already figured out where you are going anyhow!). Annie is good for grooming, farrier, etc though she can get bored standing for too long. She does not have any stable vices.
