Flame-colored and fearless, RallyonMarion is a fun filly!

This outdoorsy and elegant mare has the spirit of an adventuress and happily braves any questions asked of her!

“Rally” is also a vintage girly-girl! She loves her people and loves to receive all the attention! She has a lovely personality and is exceptionally sweet.  This warrior princess is very specific about the way she likes her baths—you must first start with her face (if you don’t she contorts her neck and body until you can’t help but spray her on the forehead!). And don’t forget the ever-important drink from the hose … she requires that, too!

Rally enjoys 24/7 turnout and takes care of herself in a group. She is currently barefoot, an easy keeper and always the first to greet you in the field.

Rally raced 37 times and, once she retired, attempted the broodmare life but it wasn’t for her! She is currently working on getting her pre-baby body back and the more she works, the stronger and more balanced she gets! She is developing three nice gaits, both on the lunge and under saddle.

We’ve worked Rally on the ground through obstacles including ditches, up and down banks, mud pits and over small logs and bright colored obstacles. She doesn’t bat an eye! And she’s pretty amazing at doing down-dog in a ditch if there is delicious grass on the other side!

Under saddle, Rally is walking, trotting, cantering, starting over ground poles and hacking out. She is very curious and inquisitive and enjoys going out on the trail. She is green, but she could be brought along by a confident adult amateur or junior in a steady program with a trainer’s assistance.

She is a fast learner who bonds quickly with her handler.

New Vocations’ adoption fees are intentionally set lower than the cost of buying most Thoroughbreds or Standardbreds through a private seller. In today’s market, it’s not unusual for horses coming right off the track to be listed for sale at a price between $2,000 and $5,000. At New Vocations, we set a fee that will ultimately help each horse find a home quickly. The program’s facilities are always at full capacity, which means we cannot take in an additional horse until one is adopted. Adopters should be encouraged to know that by adopting a horse through New Vocations, they are actually helping two horses transition to careers outside of racing.

Additionally, adopters get great value for their money: The majority of the horses have been in the program for a minimum of 60 days. During that time, horses are rehabilitated (if needed), socialized with other horses, fully evaluated, and in work with a professional trainer. New Vocations fully discloses each horse’s history and provides all available medical records, many of which include X-ray and ultrasounds.

While adoption fees are low, it should be noted that costs associated with ongoing care and additional training for each horse after adoption can be high. New Vocations hopes that by helping an adopter save money upfront, he or she will have more funds available to cover the continuing costs of properly caring for a horse.
