Each year, New Vocations provides rehabilitation, retraining, and adoption services to hundreds of retired racehorses. It’s a journey of countless steps, providing these horses the brightest future possible. In less than a decade, our Lexington, Kentucky, facility at Mereworth Farm has grown from 85 acres to over 150, and with that growth comes new opportunities.
Lead by a generous $300,000 gift from prominent longtime Thoroughbred owner Margaret Smith, Phase II of our Capital Campaign will enable us to grow our Lexington operations and ensure that we can continue to sustainably serve racehorses in need of a soft landing in a loving home for years to come. Our expansion includes a new barn with 12 stalls and office space, and we’re in need of your support now more than ever.
Leave a lasting legacy through a stall sponsorship.
Honor a loved one, celebrate your family's commitment to Thoroughbreds, or showcase your organization's support with a commemorative stall plaque personalized to your specifications. Plaques may recognize a sponsor, commemorate a loved one, or display another meaningful dedication.
A stall sponsorship is $15,000 and provides naming recognition for 10 years, creating a lasting tribute while directly supporting the care and transition of retired racehorses.

We invite donors to be part of this critical next step. More naming opportunities are available and range from a commemorative brick at $250 to Indoor Arena Sponsors for $100,000. Click the image below to open our digital brochure!

New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program
New Vocations is proud to be the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the country, serving more than 600 retired racehorses a year.
Since our inception in 1992, we've carried out our mission to rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome retired racehorses and placed more than 9,000 in adoptive homes. With nine facilities in Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, we continue to work with racing owners and trainers in need of aftercare options and with our adopters to find perfect homes for these most-deserving equine athletes.
