Private Donations
Funds donated to New Vocations help cover the costs associated with taking in over 500 retired racehorses each year. Any donation can be designated to cover a specific need such as vet, farrier, rehabilitation or transitional training, as well as general operations or the Capital Campaign. No gift is too small to make a difference. There are many ways to donate to New Vocations; setting up a recurring monthly donation, becoming an annual donor or pledging a small percentage of yearly purse earnings are easy ways to get started.
Memorial /Honor Gift
Making a gift in honor or memory of a special person, horse or event is a meaningful way to recognize an occasion or an individual’s life and accomplishments.
- Gifts can be made in honor of a specific person, significant occasion or to celebrate the life of a loved one.
- Memorial gifts are a beautiful way to pay special tribute to someone who has passed away.
Endowment Fund
Donations to the endowment fund are the ultimate gifts that keep on giving. This permanent, self-sustaining fund will provide a dependable income stream once it reaches sufficient size. All dividends from this fund are reinvested for growth so it can eventually help sustain the program.

New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program
New Vocations is proud to be the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the country, serving more than 600 retired racehorses a year.
Since our inception in 1992, we've carried out our mission to rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome retired racehorses and placed more than 9,000 in adoptive homes. With nine facilities in Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, we continue to work with racing owners and trainers in need of aftercare options and with our adopters to find perfect homes for these most-deserving equine athletes.
