From Unnamed Nakano Takeko '19's owner: Taco is looking for his new family due to no fault of his own. He was adopted with the intention of being a family horse used for trail riding and a lesson horse for grandkids. He is by Uncle Mo and carries on his genes of being confident, calm, curious, quiet, but most of all loving towards people. He’s been exposed to farm life with various animals and equipment taking it all in stride. He’s also been exposed to children running a muck all around him and has never startled or jumped when they are underfoot
Taco has been pastured with mares and geldings but will herd mares away from other boys when they’re in heat. He LOVES to eat and is a pretty easy keeper. He will crib while eating but that can be controlled with a strap. He has great feet and has been kept barefoot. Due to my physical limitations, I have not been able to ride Taco or start him on retraining. He has had groundwork done and is very chill when being introduced to new things. It won’t take him long to jump back into the saddle again!

New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program
New Vocations is proud to be the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the country, serving more than 600 retired racehorses a year.
Since our inception in 1992, we've carried out our mission to rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome retired racehorses and placed more than 9,000 in adoptive homes. With nine facilities in Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, we continue to work with racing owners and trainers in need of aftercare options and with our adopters to find perfect homes for these most-deserving equine athletes.
