Description
In the mood for soul food? Then come and take a look at this crazy cat! “Newt Stephens” is blank-slate type prospect that’s just waiting for the right person to bring out his sparkle.
Newt is not the sharpest tool in the shed but he tries hard to figure out his job and what people expect of him… until he decides that he is too tired. He can frequently be found napping and is quite the easy keeper! Newt is a more aloof personality type and prefers a quieter handler who take their time approaching him. He can be hard to catch. Newt is currently barefoot and prefers to stay inside unless it is sunny and warm outside.
Ideal adopters will allow Newt more time to continue growing and developing. We have not sat on him so we cannot speak to his disposition while under saddle but he has been worked at liberty and on the ground. Newt’s way of going has a lot of uphill animation and he displays a great deal of power in his hind end. With additional work and proper development to fine-tune his natural implusion, we think he will truly be a rockstar. When he came to us we witnessed some gait abnormalities and have had our chiropractor working with him to correct those issues.
Newt is suitable for an advanced rider experienced bringing along young cats. He was deemed uncompetitive at the track and retired with no known injuries. He does however have some unique dental issues and has a bit of an underbite but it should cause no problems with bitting. He would be a great jumper, eventer, or dressage prospect.
