A little piece of Standardbred Royalty!!!

Victory Treasure, lovingly known as Tori, is a truly special mare with a story worthy of her regal name. Born in 2002, this Standardbred Matron of Honor carries both grace and legacy, best known as the dam of the celebrated millionaire trotting stallion, Uncle Peter. With 38 starts during her racing career and a remarkable contribution of nine foals, Tori has more than earned her place in the spotlight. Now enjoying her retirement from motherhood, Tori is pasture sound and full of life. She thrives in a peaceful environment where she can simply be a horse — grazing, relaxing, and soaking up the care and attention she adores. She has a gentle, affectionate nature and genuinely enjoys being groomed, fussed over, and loved.Tori would do best in a quiet setting with a compatible pasture companion, where she can spend her days outdoors and her nights safe and comfortable. She’s not looking for a job — she’s looking for a home that recognizes her past, appreciates her presence, and treats her like the royalty she is. If you have a soft spot for distinguished mares and a place in your heart (and pasture) for a horse who has contributed so much, Tori would love to grace your pastures with her presence and grace.

• Leading and Ground Manners - Level 1 - Tori leads with a simple halter and lead.
• Grooming and Tacking - Level 1 - Tori is great with a pampering groom session. She has arthritic changes and can be difficult to pick up her feet if she doesn't feel secure.
• Horse Care - Level 2 -Tori needs normal management and care for a more senior horse, including a little more calorie boost in the cooler weather and arthritis.
• Riding - Level N/A - She is cleared by the vet for an easy life of luxury. Tori is broke to ride and would be suitable to put a child on her and lead them around, but this sweet mare has been cleared for a life of retirement after raising her babies.
• General Demeanor - Level 1 - Tori's sweet, and occasionally likes to remind you she is a queen! She very much enjoys her attention, as well as her food!
• Physical Capability - Level N/A - Tori is pasture sound only but ready to be your best friend!

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES

New Vocations intentionally sets our horses’ adoption fees lower than the average cost of buying a Thoroughbred or Standardbred from a private seller. In today’s market, horses coming right off the track are often listed at $5,000 to $10,000!

Our fees range from $0 (waived) to $3,500. Fees typically correspond with a horse’s anticipated physical capabilities. So, horses that are best suited for non-riding careers (our Pasture Potatoes) have waived fees, while the fees for horses assessed to be suitable for high-impact careers will be up to $3,500.

While our adoption fees are low, it’s important to remember that costs associated with ongoing care and additional training for a horse can be high. New Vocations hope that by helping adopters save money upfront, you’ll have more funds available to cover the costs of properly caring for and training a retired racehorse.

When you adopt a horse through New Vocations, you’re helping two horses; your new family member and the one who takes their place in our program. Our facilities are nearly always at max capacity, which means we can’t take in a new horse until one is adopted. Keeping our adoption fees low helps us find appropriate homes for horses quickly, enabling us to help even more horses transition off the track as stalls open up in our barns!

Another perk of adopting from us: We do all we can to give you the most value for your adoption fee. Most adoptable horses have been in the program for a minimum of 60 days, during which they've rehabilitated (if needed), socialized with other horses, been evaluated by trainers and veterinarians, and have been in regular training with a professional. On average, the monetary value of these services exceeds $5,000. Any medical records (often including X-rays and ultrasounds) and pertinent history we have on each horse are also available to interested and approved adopters.
