Description
Looking for an equine buddy, ‘lawn ornament’, or just want to support a retirement option for a spectacular ex-racehorse? Look no further!
Maybe you need a new model for photoshoots or cameos in your social media videos. Perhaps you want a friend to take walks with you. You may need a reason to get up and get outside every day, and want to just be able to groom and love on another horse… Young or old, big or small, gray/ bay/chestnut, social or aloof. Whatever the reason be and no matter what kind of buddy you’re seeking, we have horses who are looking for a meaningful connection that goes beyond the saddle – and they can’t wait to meet you!
While many horses with competitive potential can be loving and trustworthy pasture buddies, the companion horses in our program typically have limited to no ability to be ridden. However, they can lead happy and healthy lives as pets, and thrive in 24/7 turnout. What they lack in physical capability, they make up in kindness, beauty and lawn-mowing ability!

New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program
New Vocations is proud to be the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the country, serving more than 600 retired racehorses a year.
Since our inception in 1992, we've carried out our mission to rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome retired racehorses and placed more than 9,000 in adoptive homes. With nine facilities in Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, we continue to work with racing owners and trainers in need of aftercare options and with our adopters to find perfect homes for these most-deserving equine athletes.
